Day 1: Departure From San José for Tortuguero,
Start with an early departure from San José City, the capital of Costa Rica to Tortuguero, together with your guide to begin your 2-day excursion to Tortuguero National Park.
In the way to Guápiles, there is a logistic stop for a typical breakfast and then continue towards the Pavona pier or Caño Blanco or Finca Pavona, where you will go by boat to Tortuguero, the only of transportation method to get to your hotel.
The Tortuguero boat ride is one of the attractions of the area, along the way you will have the opportunity to admire exuberant forests, water channels, crocodiles, turtles, monkeys, and various species of birds.
After arriving, you will take a short guided excursion to the Tortuguero town to learn about the local attractions and a bit about the origin of this destination. After that, the rest of the day is free to relax in your lodge.

Day 2: Explore the Tortuguero National Park
This morning you will pay a visit to Mawamba Park, to walk the butterfly and frog gardens and learn about the bio-digester.
Departure by boat to the National Park Ranger station to purchase entrance tickets.
Then you will venture on a two-hour boat tour inside the canals.
Tortuguero’s flora and fauna are incredible. You will be able to spot monkeys, iguanas, birds, caimans, sloths and lots of nature.
Note: Tortuguero is one of the largest nesting sites in the Caribbean. The nesting season starts from July to mid-October, this is an activity not to be missed.

Tortuguero National Park is the best spot in Costa Rica to experience untamed life. It comprises an enormous arrangement of streams inundating most of the Northern Caribbean region of the country.
